Volunteer Agreement

WeTranslators

It is great that you are thinking about joining us as a WeTranslator and we are really looking forward to welcoming you to our team. Volunteer translators are integral to making WeFarm work successfully and we hugely appreciate you giving some of your time to help support farmers all over the world.

This document sets out what we can each reasonably expect from your volunteering role as a WeTranslator with WeFarm Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 9413259 with its registered office at Unit F, Zetland House, 5-25 Scrutton Street, London EC2A 4HJ United Kingdom (“WeFarm”; “we”; “our”; “us”).

Your role

Your role as a WeTranslator is to translate short SMS messages that have been sent to us by individuals around the world via WeFarm’s electronic communications platform. This role will be open for you to begin as soon as you satisfactorily complete the online language test, which you will find on your home dash board once you are registered. We hope that you will be able to complete around 15 translations per week, but of course we would love you to help us with more depending on your availability.

We expect you to perform your role to the best of your ability and to follow our procedures and standards which you can find in the Volunteers’ Handbook (the “Volunteers’ Handbook”) at all times. The Volunteers’ Handbook may be updated by us from time to time and the latest copy will be available for you after you sign up. We will comply with the same procedures and standards as set out in the Volunteers’ Handbook and if you have any queries or problems, please do let us know.

Induction and training

We will provide you with information explaining what we do and how volunteers fit within our organisation in the Volunteers’ Handbook. All other tools you need will either be on our website or in the Volunteers’ Handbook. Please read it carefully before starting and keep it handy for any questions you might have.

Supervision, support and leaving

Your main point of contact during your volunteering with us will be Camila Gordon who can be contacted at volunteer@wefarm.org. If you have any problems with the WeFarm system or wish to ask any questions, please contact Camilla directly. If you no longer wish to be a WeTranslator, please contact volunteer@wefarm.org and we will remove you from the system.

Intellectual property

You assign to us all existing and future intellectual property rights (including copyright and related rights) arising from your role as a WeTranslator and you agree to execute all documents and do all acts as may, in our opinion, be necessary to give effect to this paragraph. You irrevocably waive all moral rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (and all similar rights in other jurisdictions) which you have or will have in any existing or future works.

Confidentiality

In the course of providing your volunteering services, you may have access to confidential information relating to WeFarm, to any one of our group companies, or to any of our users. We expect you not to use or disclose this information to any person either during your volunteering experience with us or at any time afterwards.

Insurance

We will provide adequate insurance cover for you while you are undertaking voluntary work approved and authorised by us.
